Sweet Tomato Chutney

Tomato Chutney (tamatar ki meethi chutney) is a tasty tangy and sweet chutney made with tomato and jaggery and other basic Indian spices.

An interesting variation of the Indian dip Sweet tomato chutney recipe or tamatar ki meethi chutney is a sweetish tangy sauce which have a wonderful mix of tomatoes, jaggery, salt, sugar and with cumin seed1.

To make this sweet tomato chutney take a just few minutes to prepare, choose bright red ripest tomatoes and with jaggery, although this chutney is a sweet a little bit of salt is added to balance the flavour and it becomes very much delicious in taste. Sweet Tomato Chutney

INGREDIENTS

  • Fresh tomato 1/2 kg
  • Jaggery 250 gm
  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed 1 tsp
  • Oil 1 Tbsp

How to prepare SWEET TOMATO CHUTNEY

Heat a oil in a pan or kadhai on medium flame add cumin seed and then add chopped tomatoes and cook it until the tomatoes get little soft.

Now add jaggery and stir it well, when jaggery get melting then add sugar and cook it for a few minutes on medium flame.

Sweet Tomato Chutney-body

Lastly add salt and stir it well and cook it until the tomatoes get fully soft, and when chutney become brown in colour then swich-off the gas flame.

Now take it out a chutney in a plate and serve it hot with roti, and parathas
