Sabudana kheer

Delicious, a creamy thick pudding made with tapioca pearls or sabudana in (Hindi) and milk, sweetener & cardamoms.

We generally make this sabudana kheer during the Navratri Festival or during some of the fasting days, since sabudana is an ingredient that is a part of fasting food, it is very easy to cook with few ingredients which can be easily available in our kitchen.

This is a creamy smooth kheer just remember to cook the sabudana pearl very well, once they should not give you any resistance when you bite into this pearl.

The sabudana kheer naturally thickens after cooling, so keep in mind the consistency you want in case you want to serve it cold, SABUDANA KHEER is easy to digest too and very tasty also, So try it once you will definitely like it.

INGREDIENTS

  • Sabudana (Tapioca pearls) 1/2 Cup
  • Milk 2 Cup
  • Water 2 Cup
  • Sugar 4 to 5 Tablespoon
  • Green Cardamoms 4 to 5 husked, and crushed in a mortar pestle to a semi-fine powder
  • Raisin (kishmish) 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Chopped dry fruits for garnishing 1/2 tbsp

How to make Sabudana Kheer

Soak the sabudana in the water and keep aside for 2-3 hrs strain the water.

Heat a kadhai or pan on medium flame add water and warm it, then add sabudana and cook it for 4-5 minutes.

When sabudana get thick, then add milk and stir it well and add raisin and again cooked it for 4-5 minutes.

After 5 minutes add sugar, and elaichi powder cook it for a 15 mints.

When sabudana get thick and creamy switch-off the gas flame and take it out in a bowl and garnish it with dry fruits.
