Potato cutlet is an easy and deep fried tea time snacks which are loved by everyone, which is prepared with boiled potato and bread crumbs and other dry spices. Potato Cutlet is also famous street food and a delicious combination of boiled potatoes and bread, the unique Potato Cutlet is shallow fried in the little amount of oil and it is a great tea time snacks and a kid favourite.
Potato cutlet is a yummy mix of soft potatoes and bread and flavour of full Indian spices, this easy to make snacks can be had at any time of the day, it takes a less time with few ingredients which can be easily available in our kitchen. Easy potato cutlet is an authentic dish which is perfect to serve on all occasions as a starter, These cutlets are crispy with the outer layer and soft and spices within it inner layer.
Apart from consuming as a snack, it can also be used for another purpose like patties, chaats and we also call it potato lollipop, bread aloo cutlets or potato cutlets, it is very tasty to eat you can enjoy it with tomato ketchup or coriander chutney. Here I have made potato cutlets in ball shape you also give a Tikki shape what shape you want to give you give it and make it at your home.
- Boiled Potatoes 3 (mashed)
- Refined flour 2 Tbs
- Chopped Onion 1
- Coriander leaves 2 Tbs
- Red Chilli flake 1/2 tsp
- Dry amchur powder 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
- Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep fry
- Fresh home-made Bread Crumbs 2 cup
How to make Potato Cutlet
Boil potatoes and peel it and mashed it well.
Add coriander leaves, onion, ginger- garlic paste in mashed potatoes.
Add amchur powder, red chilli flake, coriander powder, garam-masala powder, salt and breadcrumbs in potatoes and mix it well.
Make a ball of mashed potatoes for coating make a batter of flour for that take 1 bowl to add flour and add 1/2 cup of water and make semi- thick batter of flour.
Heat an oil in deep fry saucepan in medium flame, now coat an all potatoes balls in flour batter one by one and then final coating it with breadcrumbs.
Now dip a potatoes balls in oil and deep fry it until the balls get golden brown turn the ball another side with the help of fork spoon.
Fry it on medium flame until the cutlets get golden brown and crispy from all sides.
Drain the potatoes cutlets on tissues so that the extra oil is absorbed.
Take the all cutlets in the plate and serve it with tomato ketchup or with green chutney.
Enjoy a Potato Cutlet with a cup of evening tea.
