Mirchi Vada

Mirchi Vada is a popular Rajasthani street food recipe, This Mirchi Vada is a spicy Indian snack consistency of chilli and regular Indian spices.
To make this Mirchi Vada you can use large chillies, which are not spicy and are and you can also remove the seed of chilli. Serve this spicy and tasty Vada with tomato ketchup in the evening as a tea-time snack.

  • 4 big green Chilli
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1-1 cup Besan
  • 1/3 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/3 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Cut chilli in a split.
  • Fill a coriander powder in chilli.
  • In a mixing bowl add besan, turmeric powder and baking soda.
  • Add cumin powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix it well.
  • Add water as required and make a thick batter.
  • Heat oil till a drop of batter and dropped in comes up at once.
  • Dip the chilli in a batter, coat it very well with batter.
  • Place the chilli in medium hot oil gently.
  • Fry the chilli vada till they are golden.
  • Be careful flipping when vada in the oil.
  • When golden and crisp, remove the Mirchi vada.
  • Place vada on a kitchen paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Serve it with tomato ketchup.
